Why I Choose Freelancing

As someone who recently ventures out in freelancing, I can honestly say that I'm loving freelancing now. Freelancing has allowed me to learn more about myself and what I can do more than any other job I've had. It is in fact one of the most rewarding careers anyone could ever have. Here are the top 5 reasons why I choose freelancing.

1. Family

Family is the top reason why I choose freelancing. Freelancing offers me the flexibility to focus on the things I value the most. I can simply take my laptop with me and work around spending time with my kids. It allows me to create my own space, my own time, and earn while spending time with my family.

2. Passion

I came to realized that my passion and dreams are not fulfilled by working for someone else. A lot of times, I am unable to show my skills and talents in the workplace. Freelancing can be the way to pursue your passion. As a freelancer, I can decide the type of work based on my skills. I can utilize my strengths and abilities to a great degree, in freelancing.

3. I am my own boss

Freelancing makes me the master of my own ship. There is no compulsion to be under the domination of anyone. No one is my boss any more. No more appraisals, no more working for autocratic managers, there's nobody to micromanage my daily tasks. I don't have to navigate a corporate hierarchy in order to prove my worth. I am in control of my working life and no one else.

4. Work from home, or anywhere

This is what makes freelancing an attractive option for me to pursue, being able to work from home or pretty much anywhere. I can work from the comforts of my own home or I can head out to the nearest coffee shop - entirely up to me. I can do it in my pajamas, and no one will ever know.

5. Higher Earning Potential

The great thing about freelancing is that the harder you work, the more money you earn. If you work for someone else, working longer hours won't necessarily bring more cash. It might help further your career, showing your boss how keen and committed you are. But it won't put more money in the bank. Freelancing allows you to earn as much as you like.

So there you have it, my top five reasons why I choose freelancing. There's a lot more to mention but I hope this list gives you an inspiration why you should choose freelancing too.

I have been an employee and now a freelancer. I love freelancing because I value my freedom and I enjoy the flexibility. I am now in control of my life, what I do on a daily basis is entirely up to me - each day, I choose my own path.

What about you? What do you love about freelancing?
